Last night I hauled out the sewing machine for the first serious sewing I've done in over 12 years. I participated in 4-H Home Ec stuff for over 10 years, but haven't touched a sewing project since I graduated from high school. I was so excited to do this after finding such cute fabric at the store, and I was not let down at all. It was fan-freaking-tastic.
This bag is for my KSKS swap pal, who likes blue with green. I chose Tiny Happy's Shoulder Bag because it is just irresistibly cute. Start to finish (which includes re-acquainting myself with my sewing machine, drawing out the pattern in real size, cutting out the pieces, etc) took 2 and a half hours. This morning I busted out most of a 2nd one in about half an hour. SO QUICK. SO CUTE. SO MUCH FUN. I can't wait to tackle the other fabric combos I bought and make some more of these daddies.
Oh - I didn't have a button at home, but snagged up these adorable glass heart buttons in cream made by local glass artist Linda Steider.
I'm waiting on my pal's foot measurements, but in the meantime I will scope out the perfect sock yarn for her. (It's hard because she dyes yarn and sells it herself...)
