I present my newest favorite knitted FO:
- Pattern: of course, the Clapotis
- Yarn: Handmaiden Great Big Sea, color Pansy, 2.33333 skeins
- Needles: US8
- Shawl Pin: Ron Pessolano
This little lovely caught me entirely by surprise. Normally, I can't stand knitting scarves, or their cousins. A shawl I can handle - only if there's enough going on to keep me interested. But five feet of stockinette stitch on a US8 needle? Forget it.
But I loved it! Somehow I really, really enjoyed knitting this. Maybe it's because it was a little touch of calm and predictability in the midst of all the other chaos in my life right now.
And wearing it? A dream. I wear it every chance I get. I did finish it in time to take with me to the Yarn Market News Conference in Chicago (yay me). I wear it wrapped around my neck like a scarf most of the time, but during one chilly lunch at the hotel it was perfect for opening up and spreading over my shoulders. It's Clapotis love. Oh - and here's the latest hair color. ;)
