I am officially no longer an OFFF virgin. Fiber has exploded into my life.

Yesterday Vonnie and I went to Oregon Flock & Fiber in Canby. And just like that, kah-BOOM, I have a new addiction. As you can see from my haul, I managed to get almost all fiber, with just two skeins of yarn sneaking into the day's catch: some lightweight Socks That Rock in Lucy (who could pass up Blue Moon??), and a yum-yum-yummy skein of organic cotton in light green from Great Balls of Fiber out of Snohomish, WA. The rest of was all sizes and kinds of fiber to spin up. (And in the upper left is a goat marionette puppet for CK.)
Here's me and Vonnie if front of Dicentra's booth - this woman is amazing. Her bright stuff (see the hot pink ball in the upper center and everything to its left) is to dye for! Hah! I'm so fibery-witty!But in all seriousness, she is not to be missed. I had to spin up some of hers (the hot pink mix) as soon as I got home, and here's a pic of it drying outside this morning.
It was a beatiful day for a fiber festival, hitting 80 in the valley (wow!). After the cold weather we had the last week it was a pleasant surprise. Vonnie had her travelling Trek sock, pictured on the left with her haul. The learning curve I went through in about 4 hours was amazing. When I walked in the door to the first
building, I had no idea what I was looking at, let alone what to look for. And as we made our second round through that same building on our way to leave OFFF, I felt like an old pro, my arms laden with fiber balls of all flavors. It was a tad surreal. (On the right is Crown
Mountain - talk about yummy stuff; under
Vonnie is another pic from Dicentra; on the bottom right is random pretty fiber.)
Overall we had a blast, and now it's time to get back to the real world. September is almost over and I am only on the heel flaps of my 2-at-once SAM2 socks -ay yay yay! Plus - we have a boatload of new scarf samples to work up (see picture below), not to mention all the myriad other projects I already have started or really need to start. Spinning has really crimped my knit-style (get it? Crimped instead of cramped! I am hilarious!)

I'm glad you had a good day =). I bet that you will be all ready for next year and Black Sheep.

I had a ton of fun too! I know what you mean about a learning curve--I was way more focused for OFFF than Black Sheep Gathering which was my first fiber fair. I liked OFFF immensely. Sorry our paths didn't cross--I got there at 9:20 and was back on the road home by 10:30...

Looks like you have a new addiction! I just got the Lucy and Waterlilies Socks that rock in the mail on Saturday. What pattern are you going to use for Lucy? I have yet to decide....I was kind of thinking plain jane socks.
How did you only buy one skein from Blue Moon?
Talk to you in a week!

Chrissy (Knittin' Mom) and I were at OFFF Sunday, too! Wasn't it wonderful?!? I came home with a little fiber and my first drop spindle. I feel I'm on the edge of a slippery slope. . . .

Oh! And I bought Aaron one of those goat marionettes, too. They are soooo cute!
