The yarn just keeps pouring in! Check out how big the (second) pile in the hallway has become:
New donors include Amancay (my crochet instructor at the store - if you're local sign up for her class - it's going to be great), blogless Anne in the UK (that's right, I said UK - yarn from around the world!), and blogless Jill, a local knitter who knits many of my store models. Here's what Ms. Sprouse (the teacher who thought up this Knit-A-Bit elective) had to say about our first yarn dropoff:
What a treat it was to have 3 boxes of yarn delivered to us!!! :) THANK YOU!Truly, from the bottom of my heart. The students were psyched. And with so much "baby yarn" we're starting to think about the charity project...
Thank you knitters for your amazing generosity! Don't forget we're accepting donations until October 15th to make it in the prize drawing (either a $20 gift card to KAH or a skein of Vonnie's beautiful beaded mohair handspun).
Now on to the spinning content...I showed a pic of these skeins hanging to dry, but here they are skeined up in a little self-portrait. The blue is the merino Vonnie gave me for my birthday, and the bright stuff is wool from Dicentra. Looovvve it! I'm thinking of a shrug for CK in the bright stuff (should come to fruition a lot faster than my hand-dyed sock-weight shrug I blogged about a couple of months ago).
And here's the knitting content: The 2 Socks at Once are past the gussets. I am bound and determined to finish these suckers by the end of the week/month for SAM2. Wish me luck!
Love the haircolor! And your handspun yarn turned out beautiful!
