The other day a customer was paging through our Sweater binder of leaflet patterns, and a little vest pattern popped out and grabbed my attention. It's been in my inventory practically since the store opened 3 years ago, and until that day I had never given it a second glance. But all of a sudden it looked like it really, really needed to be knit up for a Fall store sample. I present to you the Ivy Rockport:
- Pattern: The Rockport Vest by Oat Couture
- Yarn: Nashua Handknits Ivy (50 alpaca, 45 merino, 5 estellina), 6 skeins Verdant Green #1340
- Size: 36" finished chest
- Needles: 4,5mm (US9)
The yarn to use was an easy decision - Nashua Handknits Ivy is an oft looked-over yarn that feels so wonderful in the hands. I think this vest pattern is perfect for giving Ivy the spotlight this Fall. It's hard to see in photos, but the Estellina fiber in the yarn gives a subtle all-over silver sparkle.
The yarn is perfect for the holidays. It has an allover right twist/left twist pattern that is interesting enough to keep you motivated to knit but not so complicated you can't work on it with two kids running around and the Backyardigans signing in the background.
hola, hola from Lima!
We are flying home tonight and I do not even know where to begin. This trip has been amazing! We are exhausted and overwhelmed. Can“t wait to see you guys and catch up.....love the hair and the new vest.
I have been a serious knitting slacker in the land of knit wonders-no yarn purchases-it was as we thought-lots of knits and little yarn to purchase. Got sick on something and just had my first meal in 6 days.
hugs to all you guys and hi to julia-no email here for me.
Hasta,
n
