My early confidence in my progress seems misplaced at this point.
I still love my chosen project, but I hadn't really thought through the fact that I'm essentially knitting a very long scarf - and I hate knitting scarves.
The pattern stitch is pretty easy and very memorizable, so at this point it's not even keeping me entertained. I just finished the 68" of the long panel, and I've picked up stitches along the panel to knit the back. After the back is finished it's some crazy number of inches to knit the belt, then a crochet finish a couple of times around the whole thing.
This being Friday, and with the Olympics ending Saturday, it really doesn't look like it's gonna happen, folks. Don't get me wrong, by no means am I giving up...just sayin'.
(PS - LOVE the YARN. Hand Maiden Fine Yarns Great Big Sea Silk in Pewter - delicious. Every stitch.)
If it makes you feel any better Sarah, I might not be either. Even though I only have the collar, arm and front band ribbing, and sewing in ends to go, I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. I was on track, but with the busy work week I've had, there just hasn't been much left in the tank to crank out my normal amount of morning and evening knitting. Oh well, bad timing - it'll be done soon!

Come on team captain, buck up and get er done! Spoken by a maybe silver or bronze medalist. I'm not out yet. I am a fighter by gum and I plan on sprinting to the finish, even though I was still swatching on Wednesday of this week!

Pierre de Coubertin quote: “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” Haaaa feel better? Stress and knitting are the most opposite words! And enjoy your knitting... even if the scarf is ready for next summer... and it looks wonderful by the way.
I'm so philosophical in this friday afternoon... better going back to work...because I am going to be stressed!!

Thought I was doing great as the baby coat is coming together until I got to the hood! Ugh!!! 8 inches of garter stitch is like trying to watch a pot of water boil. I keep measuring and it always seems to be on 6"...I'm determined...it will be finished on Sunday!!!!
