Years ago I knit a sweater that captivated me from start to finish - Norah Gaughan's Bubble Pullover from her groundbreaking book, Knitting Nature. It is made up of a series of hexagons that all connect to each other. I was fascinated by how Norah used these multi-sided shapes to create the body of the sweater, and by how well they came together to create flattering shape all around.
In Norah's class, Knitting Polygons, you will also feel the magic of knitting with these intriguing little shapes! You will learn all the tricks to using them to make garments that double as works of art.
Norah is a renowned knitwear designer and former design director of Berroco Yarns. Her use of shapes and mathematics in her work is well recognized throughout the knitting world. Norah authored the book Knitting Nature, and has created hundreds of designs for Berroco and other knitwear magazines such as Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits. She now freelances as a knitwear designer and teacher - and we are so lucky to have her join us this year at the CGFF!
